Rafael Calvo designed and handcrafted the luxurious and sculptural Gilt Demi-Lune Console Table using reclaimed 150-year-old Douglas fir beams he salvaged from Manhattan townhomes that would have been taken to a landfill. Rafael assembled the Douglas fir beams in different lengths to construct the impressive 2 ¼" thick top of the Gilt Demi-Lune Console Table, resembling a rigid handheld fan. The Transformers characters inspired the table's base. Gold leaf covers the whole Demi-Lune Console Table, revealing ancient wood imperfections with a touch of glow and sophistication, and is finished with a non-toxic oil to bring the wood's natural grain alive. The Gilt Demi-Lune Console Table juxtaposes rustic, luxurious, and futuristic design.

As with all of Rafael's pieces, this is a one-of-a-kind, sustainable, handcrafted piece; no two pieces of furniture are the same.
